The Prevailing Technology team has decades of experience in semiconductors, microprocessors, microcontrollers, perhipherals, memory, FPGAs, programmable logic, embedded software, system design, CAE, EDA, and compelling user documentation.

Steven K. Knapp

Steve is a 25-year veteran of the programmable logic industry.  A self-admitted FPGA addict, Steve was an early employee at Xilinx, Inc. (inventors of the first FPGA), at Triscend Corporation (inventors of the first Configurable System-on-a-Chip, integrating an industry-standard processor, programmable logic, and memory), and Intel's programmable logic effort back in the mid-1980s.

Steve performed a variety of functions, including Field Applications Engineer, new product development manager, applications engineering director, software developmer, IP core developer, and even managed sales and technical teams in Japan and throughout Asia Pacific.  Steve has written and presented extensively on programmable logic and embedded processing.  He holds eleven U.S. patents with more on the way.
