About Us

Prevailing Technology was founded in 2007 by Steve Knapp, a 30-year veteran of the programmable logic industry.  What began as a vision to bridge the gap between technology and understanding has evolved into a company that transforms complex concepts into user-friendly documentation, fostering stronger connections between businesses and their customers.

 

At 16 years old, Steve’s daughter Emily began working for Prevailing Technology. As she pursued her education, Emily’s journey led her to work as a technical writer for a prominent high-tech company in Santa Clara, and now back to Prevailing Technology. She has extensive experience utilizing a variety of programs, including Doxygen, Gerrit Code Review, and Polarion, among others, to create user-friendly documentation. She has also employed Microsoft, Mac, and Adobe suites to create high-quality documentation and a variety of technical, flow, and timing diagrams. Her experience brought a fresh perspective, innovative ideas, and a deep understanding of the evolving tech landscape.
